On September 29, 2011 at the University of North Alabama – Norton Auditorium there is to be a debate on the existence of God. The debate will be between Kyle Butt, who works for Apologetics Press and Blair Scott, an atheist who works for various atheist organizations.
The question as to whether or not God exists has been an ongoing debate for centuries. For those who believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) then this question is easily answered.
In Acts 14:17, “Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
Psalm 14:1, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘there is no God.'”
One can appeal to the Scriptures to prove the existence of God; however, for those who do not believe the Bible to be inspired of God, the Scriptures have no bearing .
Yet, one can look at the world in which he/she lives and see that there must be a higher being. Everything works together perfectly like it was designed to be the way it is. The universe demands that there be a designer and the world shows order (not chaos).
What are the chances of the universe (stars, sun, moon and so on), and the earth in its perfect working order happening by random chance? In mathematical calculations this would be a number that one could not even comprehend.
