The Bervity of Life

On Monday, September 2o, 2011 this world lost a lady who has impacted many lives. She was a sweet loving woman who cared much for others, but most importantly she was a Christian (Revelation 14:13).

While her family and friends mourn the loss of her, heaven is rejoicing (Psalm 116:15). It is never easy when one passes from this life, for there are always those who are left behind. However, if one is a Christian we have the hope in the next life of being reunited with our loved ones.

David, a man after Gods own heart, understood this concept. After his child died he knew that he could not bring him back. David knew that it was up to him to live a life pleasing to God so that he could again be with his son ( 2 Samuel 12:23).

One thing is for certain death is inescapable, what must be determined is how you are going to live your life. The choice is whether or not you are going to serve God or whether serve this world. The best words of advice for anyone is to be prepared. James says, “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14).
