“I Love Jesus”

I have often found it amazing that so many folks claim to love Jesus, but refuse to do anything to show it. Many people desire to get all they can from Him, but want to give Him as little as possible. Christ stated in John 14:15, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Yet, so many refuse to keep even one of them and think that Jesus owes them something.

In John 15:14 Christ said, “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” There is an implication here, that if one does not do whatever Christ commands then that person is not His friend.

Sadly, so many today want to keep one foot in the world and one foot with Jesus. The fact of the matter is this is not possible. Christ said, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

James said by inspiration, “Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”

If a person truly loves Jesus then that person will do everything within his/her power to be pleasing to Him. That person will “keep His commands” everyone of them to the best of his/her ability.
